BREATHING AND IT INVOLVED
We breath but the process is automatic and like hunger or thirst you can not wish it or deny it. This is a necessity but a very important function that make we the people live and act.The breathing involves inhaling exhaling after retaing the air for some time with in the lungs. The longer we keep the better the oxygen absorption for good health.
The cakra or the gland associated with this process is called ANAHAT. This is a Sanskrit word that mean beyond self control.One can suppress hunger for hours, days and even months, but breathing ....?
Breathing has major five functions described in the process of Indian Yoga as:
UDHANA
PRANA
SAMANA
VAYANA
APANA
Udhana dwell between the upper part of thought and leave the body through the Sahastrara at the time of death.
prana dwell in the heart and is the most important function of imparting oxygen and keeping the herat ticking.
Samana is the part of the breath that keep the entire system in balance and occupy the space between the throught and the naval.
Vayana is that part that run through out the entire body and causes the nourishment of all cells.
Apana is the breath that stay at the lower part called Annus and help in removing the waste out of the body.
Thus these are the five major function that the air we breath perform and has been identified by Indian yoga. Besides there are many other type of breath that has identified but not that prominent.
